How Long Does EMShaping Take?

Each EMshape session is a 30 minute treatment on one particular area of the body. If you’re working on multiple body parts, like the abdominal and the buttock areas, that will require two 30 minute sessions. EMshape treatment is 4 sessions of 30 minutes, spaced 2-3 days apart, over a period of two weeks.

Who Is An EMshape Candidate?

Not Everyone Can EMShape

Individuals with metal or electronics, like a pacemaker or cardiac defibrillator implanted anywhere in their body are not good candidates for EMShape.

  • If you have cardiac issues or a history of seizures you are not a good candidate

  • Clients with a history of muscle issues such as complicated hernias, are not suitable candidates to receive EMshape treatments.

  • There can’t be any metal around the device much like getting an MRI.

  • If you have a metal implant in your body, particularly in the treatment area, consult with your doctor.

  • If you have metal pins in your leg, it may still be safe to have EMShaping. If they are titanium and your orthopedic surgeon has said that it is okay for you to have a MRI, then you should be able to have EMshape treatments. If the pins in your leg are truly metal then you should not have EMshape. Be sure to get clearance from your physician before your treatment.

  • You cannot EmShape during pregnancy, but, you can safely have EMShape 2 weeks after delivery to help close up the Diastasis recti and strengthen abdominal muscles.

Pre-Service Instructions

  • Don’t eat a full meal 2 hours before your EmShape treatment.

  • Eat a high-protein snack as you would just before a workout

  • Do not drink caffeine or alcohol 24 hours before your treatment

  • Wear comfortable clothes that allow easy access to the treatment area

  • Remove all jewelry and electronic devices prior to treatment

  • Remove lotions from your skin before your treatment

  • Shave the body hair on your treatment area if you have substantial growth

Post Service Instructions

  • You may resume normal activities

  • You may experience mild soreness in the muscles over the next few days. You can take over-the-counter pain killers if required

  • Maintain a healthy fitness routine, diet and lifestyle to optimize and maintain your results

  • Enjoy muscle development for up to 6 months
